Easter

What can I say?  I am a little late to the Easter Party but, but... I had grand plans to put this adorable picture up in time for Easter but...  I am lazy.  I have no other excuse. I will blame it on my lazy Easter Sunday.

On Easter Sunday my family rose at O'dark 30 to attend Sunrise Service. I was dreading going because of the rain but just as our group stepped out on the grassy knoll the sun broke through the fog and the rain ceased.  The crowd lifted their voices in worship and all was well with the world. It was loverly.

After worship, we all retired to our hosts cozy garage for an amazing breakfast spread.  Some one had brought single serving boxes of "sugar cereal" - you would have thought my kids had died and gone to heaven.  I think they each ate 6 boxes a piece.

My husband and I chatted with some of the elder church members about Easter memories and you would have thought those elderly folks had died and gone to heaven.  WE made their day.  That in turn made our day.

We had no lunch plans for the day so we all went home and crashed in front of the boob-tube.  Alternating between sugar coma naps and Netflix overload, we lazed the day away.  It was wonderful.  I made a simple dinner of roasted pork, Au Gratin potatoes and stir fried green beans.  We thanked the Lord for our many blessings and His sacrifice.

After dinner, my family gathered with our neighbors for an evening of board games.  We played the game Settlers of Catan. ( I think I might be a little addicted to this game. It is so much fun!)  We snacked, played and laughed the night away. It was the perfect ending to our day.

All told, we had a wonderfully lazy Resurrection Sunday.

  1. Man I feel like taking a nap - what a relaxing description of a wonderful day - a day that was very similar to ours, I might add, except that I got almost a whole quilt top done while everyone else was lounging around. But that is relaxing to me, so it's all good.

  3. Your easter was worth the wait... It's hard for one to recover from self induced sugar coma...
