WFW::Rain

Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
Deut. 32:2

With the non-stop rains we have had, I just felt like this verse was right for today. I hope this brings just a little sunshine to your mid-week slump.

WFW** Seeking peace

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday's is to encourage others through a bible verse and a photo.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:15-17

Today I am praying for peace to rule in my heart. I hope this verse brought you encouragement. To see other WFW posts go visit Amydeanne.

I struggle with being cheerful. I guess it is the pessimist in me. This was an ever gentle reminder that I need to keep the good medicine in my heart~daily. I hope that you have a very cheerful Wednesday!

Word filled Wednesday: Teaching

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is illustrating God's word using a photo with a verse.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6

The book of Proverbs is chalk full of advice for us parents. It seems that at this point in my life I am doing LOTS of "training". Teaching my children how to complete tasks, how to behave, reiterating the "whys" and "what fors" and just the general book learnin', are all the center of my daily life right now. It seems that school is never really "out". I am constantly teaching someONE, someTHING. Some days it can get pretty discouraging and most of the time it feels like no one is really "getting" what I am teaching. I find great encouragement in the book of Proverbs. Today this verse just popped out at me. I hope that it will pop for you too.

Word filled Wednesday

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Psalm 46:2

This is a photo I took of the ocean from below the Heceta Head Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. When I pulled out this picture for my Word filled Wednesday I wasn't sure what scripture to use so I just let God speak. Didn't he do a great job? I had never read that verse before and it was perfect; it fit the photo exactly and was a great encouragement to me.
